Last updated: 24 August 2026
No Limit Academy respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This notice explains what we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights available to you under UK data protection law.
1. Who we are
No Limit Academy is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. We are a London-based dance training academy.
If you have a question about this notice or want to exercise a data protection right, contact us at hello@nolimitacademy.co.uk.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and any other contact information you provide.
- Enquiry and communication details, including the content of messages you send through our forms, by email, or through social media.
- Booking and attendance details, such as the class or event booked, ticket or order details, booking history, attendance information, and information needed to administer changes, cancellations, or refunds.
- Payment and transaction details, such as the amount paid, payment status, transaction reference, and limited payment-card information made available by the payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Marketing preferences, including whether you have asked to receive news and updates and when that choice was recorded.
- Technical and website-use information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referral source, approximate location, and cookie or analytics identifiers.
- Other information you choose to provide. Please do not include health or other sensitive information in a free-text form unless it is necessary. If you voluntarily provide this information, we will use it only as needed to respond to you or deliver the relevant service and will apply an appropriate additional legal condition where required.
3. How we collect your information
We collect information:
- directly from you when you contact us, join a mailing list, book a class, buy a ticket, or communicate with us;
- from our booking and ticketing provider, Ticket Tailor, when you register for one of our classes or events;
- from payment providers when they confirm or administer a payment; and
- automatically through essential website technology and, where you consent, analytics cookies or similar technologies.
4. Why we use your information and our lawful bases
We use personal information only when we have a lawful basis:
- To respond to enquiries and discuss training options. We rely on our legitimate interests in communicating with prospective and existing students and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To process bookings and provide classes or events. We rely on the performance of our contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering that contract.
- To administer payments, refunds, attendance, service messages, and changes to a booking. We rely on contract and our legitimate interests in running the academy effectively.
- To keep accounting, tax, and other legally required records. We rely on compliance with our legal obligations.
- To send news and marketing updates. We rely on your consent. You can unsubscribe or withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
- To protect the website, prevent fraud, maintain security, and establish or defend legal claims. We rely on legal obligations and our legitimate interests in protecting our students, staff, systems, and business.
- To understand and improve the website. For non-essential cookies and similar technologies, we rely on consent. Limited security and server-log processing may be based on our legitimate interests where it is necessary and proportionate.
We do not use your personal information for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
5. When information is required
You can choose whether to submit an enquiry or join our mailing list. However, certain identity, contact, booking, and payment details are needed to enter into and perform a booking contract. If you do not provide required booking information, we may be unable to reserve your place or provide the service.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal information only where necessary. Recipients may include:
- Squarespace, which hosts this website and provides website forms, analytics, and related services;
- Ticket Tailor, which processes ticket and attendee information on our behalf;
- payment providers, such as Stripe or PayPal where offered at checkout, and relevant banks;
- instructors, authorised academy administrators, and venue personnel where they need the information to deliver or safely administer a class;
- email, IT, security, and professional service providers acting on our behalf;
- insurers, accountants, lawyers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, or courts where disclosure is necessary or legally required; and
- a purchaser or successor if our organisation is reorganised, sold, or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection safeguards.
We do not sell personal information.
Some providers, including payment providers and third-party websites, may also process information as independent data controllers for their own purposes. Their privacy notices explain those activities.
7. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where a destination does not have UK adequacy regulations, we require an appropriate safeguard, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism. Where applicable, a provider may also rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
You can contact us for more information about the safeguard used for a particular transfer.
8. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:
- enquiry and general correspondence: normally up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact;
- booking, transaction, and accounting records: normally up to six years where needed for tax, accounting, dispute, or legal purposes;
- operational attendance information: for as long as needed to provide the class and deal with reasonable follow-up, safety, or legal issues;
- marketing information: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, after which we may keep a minimal suppression record so we respect your choice; and
- website analytics and cookie information: according to the relevant cookie setting and provider retention period. Some Squarespace analytics identifiers can remain for up to two years if analytics cookies are accepted.
We may keep information longer where the law requires it or where it is necessary for an active complaint, dispute, or legal claim. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymise it, or securely restrict its use.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses essential technologies required for security and basic operation. Squarespace may also provide analytics and performance cookies that help us understand visits and improve the site. We will use non-essential cookies only where valid consent is required and has been obtained.
Where the cookie banner is available, you can use it to accept or reject optional cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Rejecting optional cookies will not stop you from using the main parts of the website.
Third-party booking or social-media pages may use their own cookies. Please review the privacy and cookie notices on those services.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Access is limited to people and providers who need the information for an authorised purpose.
No internet transmission is completely secure. If you believe information you sent us has been compromised, contact us promptly at hello@nolimitacademy.co.uk.
11. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- ask for access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase information;
- ask us to restrict how information is used;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
- complain about how we use your information.
Your right to object
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You also have an absolute right to object to the use of your information for direct marketing.
To exercise a right, email hello@nolimitacademy.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month, although the law allows more time in some circumstances. These rights are not absolute and may depend on the lawful basis and the particular facts.
12. Complaints
Please contact us first at hello@nolimitacademy.co.uk so we can try to resolve your concern.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
13. Third-party links
Our website links to third-party services, including Ticket Tailor and Instagram. When you leave our website, the third party's own privacy notice applies. We are not responsible for how an independent third party uses information for its own purposes.
14. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Please review it from time to time.
